Hey there !

Halloween is almost right there, and I can’t wait to have a spooky dress-up party ! I’ve always loved dressing up, and I was so sad when people started to say that it was a thing for children (here in France, Halloween is not as popular as in other countries). But this year it seems like I managed to motivate my friends !

So here are some ideas for an Easy Halloween makeup, with homemade costumes
(because who has money for that anyways… well not me).

I just want to specify that I’m a complete makeup amateur who happens to know how to draw : what I mean is that I know nothing about makeup techniques… but I enjoy drawing on my face !

 

• Corpse Bride

A classic costume, that became really popular with Tim Burton’s character Emily. I inspired myself a bit of her, by adding blue undertones to my Halloween makeup (I wore a blue eye shadow as a blush). For the veil, just some flower hair pins and a piece of tulle put together, and done !
And with a liner, I drew some cracks on my skin, and covered them with a dark blue eye shadow. I ended with a white powder (which is actually “Maizena” cornstarch, I didn’t have an actual white powder), to get the “corpse look” !

 

   

 

 

• Resistance Soldier

Ok many of you already know how fond I am of video games (if you’re not aware of this, check out my latest Fashion & Gaming post !), so I had to do a video game inspired costume and Halloween makeup ! This one is based directly on Caitlyn (from League of Legends) in her resistance outfit.

Yes, I googled “long brown hair costumes”. Was not disappointed.

For this one, I wanted to try out those fake wounds that you can find for Halloween. The result looks pretty nice on the picture, but in real life the demarcation is much more visible ! Still fun to try though. Then, I added fake blood with some lipstick : it looked great, but it was terrible to wash away !
The outfit is the easiest part since you might find all of this into your closet : a red beret, an army green shirt, a pair of trousers, and brown boots.

 

   

Oh and I happen to have a brother who was into airsoft, so I borrowed his rifle air gun : it looks much more realistic that way !

 

 

• Black Widow

Another classic Halloween makeup theme ! Spiders are a safe bet if you don’t know what to dress up as, and I absolutely wanted to try out this spider mouth makeup. For that one the tricky part was choosing the right lipstick to wear, so it wouldn’t blend with the liner ! I chose a mate liquid lipstick, as it becomes completely dry when applied. I also used a liquid liner for the spider web, and for the eyes, a mix of orange and yellow eye shadows !
To complete the outfit : a black jumpsuit and heels, simple but as elegant as a spider.
