I’ve heard many times of the brand Kiko Milano, and I was especially curious about their lipsticks.
I don’t always try out the trendy makeup brands, first because it costs money (thanks captain obvious), but also because the trends tend to come and go. What if I bought from that brand that’s really popular right know, but it turns out that their product is not that great, or I end up not using it because it didn’t answer my expectations?
So, why Kiko Milano ?
I actually wasn’t looking to buy from them, or from any brand. But I happened to be in Gare de l’Est station, and I was so early that I got bored. I was wandering around, saw the Kiko store, and thought “huh, let’s see what’s in there”. And as I was looking at all the lipsticks, two of them convinced me to try them out. I was pretty impressed to discover that they weren’t actually expensive, I kind of always assume that popular brands are, but maybe I shouldn’t !
Knowing this, my sister decided to gift me two other lipsticks from the brand for christmas. So I’m now the proud owner of 4 types of Kiko Milano Lipsticks !
Let me show you how they look :
✘ 3D HYDRA LIPGLOSS
I actually don’t own ANY lipgloss.
For me, it’s the type of lipstick that I would have used when I was fourteen, to play around with “real” makeup. Plus, lipgloss is the type of product that doesn’t hold that well, so i though that it was pointless to use any.
But actually trying the 3D Hydra Lipgloss from Kiko made me reconcile with lipgloss : I forgot how hydrating they were, and how cute watery shiny lips looked ! In addition to the shine, I also really like the “tint” effect it has on the lips.
I am wearing the 3D Hydra Lipgloss in shade 22.
✘ VELVET PASSION MATTE
This is one of the lipsticks that I bought myself, matte lipsticks have been definitely in vogue for a long time now and I love them. I already own a decent collection of matte liquid lipsticks, but just one regular matte lipstick in a nude shade. That’s why I thought it would be great to add a darker shade, I think it looks great with that velvety texture effect.
The one I got from Kiko is Velvet Passion Matte in shade 318.
✘ DARK TREASURE METAL LIP
This is the other lipstick that I got waiting in the station, a metallic lipstick !
I already owned a metallic liquid lipstick from Sephora, but honestly it doesn’t hold well. So why not give it a try to a different type of metallic lipstick, and see how it evolves on the lips? I’m actually happy about how this one looks through the day, because even if it doesn’t really “hold” better than the one from Sephora, it fades in a beautiful gradient way (when the liquid lipstick one just leaves a hole in the middle of my lips). I also really like the sparkly shine it has, even though I realized that it’s pretty difficult to get it right on camera !
It’s weird but I can’t find it on the US or UK website of Kiko Milano not sure why, I only found it on the french website.
This lipstick is Dark Treasure Metal Lip, in shade 02.
✘ UNLIMITED DOUBLE TOUCH
This one is my favorite discovery, the Unlimited Double Touch !
I was a bit skeptical because of the two steps required, as I had a bad experience with the Superstay 2 Step Liquid lipstick from Maybeline. But this has actually NOTHING to do with the other one, the Double Touch is actually amazing ! You apply the first step as a regular liquid lipstick. When it dries and feels a bit sticky, you just need to apply the other transparent step, and voilà ! You get a wonderful glossy dark lip, and I swear to you this thing doesn’t budge. The gloss on it does go aways, but the color beneath is legit tattooed on your lips. I actually had a VERY hard time removing it after the shoot… but that’s what I’m loving about this lipstick, I can’t wait to try it out for a whole day.
I am wearing a dark shade, but there’s a whole range with lighter ones too !

The 3D Hydra Lipgloss in shade 22 is such beautiful natural looking shade that would look beautiful on any skin tone which is a plus! And I love GLOSSY lips especially in the spring/summer time because they are more playful and fun!
I have never been a fan of metallic lipsticks because I never know what to wear with them! Or they are too dramatic for me, but the Dark Treasure Metal Lip, in shade 02 is so beautifully soft I really like it!
Can you wear the unlimited double touch without the second step because sometimes you want a shine and other times you don’t so its good to have the option of choice without having to buy two lipsticks!
I love the softness of this metallic shade too ! Honestly I do like dramatic metallics worn with really basic outfits, I like the contrast 😉
About the unlimited double touch, I think you could because it just looks like you’re wearing a liquid lipstick, but the texture is stickier. I was actually going to try it out too, but I think i’ll have to wear at least some chapstick over it so my lips don’t feel weird 🙂
