More K-skincare ! I’m slowly exploring the fields of korean beauty lately, and I’m loving it ! This time, I’m going to review this Mandelic Acid, by Wishtrend. This is the second product that I was offered to review by them, if you wish to check out the first one there’s my Klairs Supple Preparation Toner Review !
The By Wishtrend Mandelic 5% Skin Prep Water is, according to the website :
“A hydrating and non-irritating exfoliant that can be used daily. Formulated with Mandelic Acid, it acts as an exfoliating treatment that improves the skin tone and texture while boosting the effectiveness of other products.”
It’s also : Cruelty-free, Vegan Friendly, Ethanol-free, Paraben-free, Silicon-free, Steroid-free, Artificial coloring-free, Artificial fragrance-free, pH 4.5 ± 1.0
This product is an exfoliant, meaning that it will get rid of dead cells, and smooth out the skin texture. It contains mandelic acid, which comes from almonds.
More about mandelic acid : “The Mandelic Acid helps with pigmentation to improve the skin tone and texture. As a mild exfoliator that works on the surface of the skin, it is safe to use even for sensitive skin to avoid the use of harsh chemical exfoliation. Effective for acne due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial properties.”
I’m always looking for a good exfoliant, because my skin is actually not that good. I have a pores and an uneven texture issue. It could be worse, a little makeup is enough to hide all of this, but there’s definitely room for improvement.
This product costs $ 22.00 on Wishtrend.
CLAIMS OF THE PRODUCT :
✘ Removes dead skin cells
✘ Smoothes dull, rough skin
✘ Gentle for sensitive skin
1/1
The quality of this product is good, there is no cheap fragrance in it, only a very light neutral scent, which is very welcome in my opinion. The texture is very watery, it’s easy to spread on the face. There is no color, the product itself is transparent.

The design is lovely, i’m digging that copper trend ! The bottle has again a top to unscrew, but the product is so watery that I think it’s better that way. Good choices there Wishtrend !

It does, I can definitely feel that my skin was less clogged with dead cells after some days of use. I used it daily, since my skin is not that sensitive. It only stings when I applied it on a popped pimple (I know, gross, and I shouldn’t pop out pimples, but why is it so hard not to seriously ?), and I did break out on the very first days of use. But I think it was because of my skin needing some time to adapt to this new active chemical, after that it actually helped when pimples tried to appear !
After a month, I started to notice my skin improvements, the regularly removed dead cells did make my skin texture a bit smoother, and my face looks healthier overall.

✘ PROS
– Respects all its claims
– There’s a lot of product in the bottle : 120 ml / 4.1 fl.oz
– The quality is as good as high-end products
✘ CONS
– Skin can break out
– It took a bit of time before seing results (1 month)
After 4 months of daily use, here’s how much product is left :

One bottle is $ 22.00, for that price and for the effectiveness it’s technically worth. But for a student budget it seems a bit much for an exfoliating product, it’s not actually that expensive but I couldn’t afford it all the time, so i’ll take off half a point.
FINAL RATING : ★★★★
4.5/5
