I don’t have any allergies, I like flowers, light breezes, and the soft early rays of the sun. Yeah, I like spring ! I love the fact that it’s warmer but not summer warm, I love looking at the flowers blossom… to me all of those little details make everyday a bit more enjoyable.
But right before that, there’s the in between annoying weather, with rain, a cloudy sky, some unpleasant wind, and cold humidity that tangles my hair. I reeeally don’t like that.
So, since spring isn’t going to arrive anytime soon, I decided to make a Spring Mood Board post ! It’s basically a spring inspired post, with various ways to include spring themed elements in everyday life. Maybe that will make spring arrive earlier ?
(hey at least hope springs is eternal)
I divided my post in 5 different categories :
• Harmonious and soft decoration elements
Some flowers, scented candles, a rose quartz stone, a beautifully shaped incense holder…
You can easily “spring up” your main decoration with some seasonal elements such as those, following a harmonious color palette, mine is mostly around soft pinks and orange tones.
Hanging some origami around the room with a thread looks really nice too !
• Cute Floral Outfits
Fashion ! I love outfits inspired from a theme.
Thing is I really enjoy dressing up, and I love to adapt concepts and themes into outfits, and make them the most wearable possible. So, here are two spring inspired outfits !
The first one is very stereotypical, soft pastel pink and white :
– Jacket : NewLook – Dress & Flower : H&M – Necklace : Wish –
The second outfit, I wanted to cut the pink so I took some mint green, but still stay in the soft floral spring vibes that I really love.
Plus, how cute is this owl bag !
(I’m not sure if it’s actually an owl actually but hey, it’s cute) :
– Dress & Cardigan : H&M – Bag : Japan Expo –
Also, Flowers pinned on hair or clothes will automatically transform you in a spring fairy (granted).
• Refreshing Spring Cooking
Spring is about renew and refreshing things, and I think Japanese cuisine is perfect for this !
But not the regular poorly executed cheap restaurant version, or the mayo deep fried US version (sorry american people, I have seen some things that cannot be unseen). Of course that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy my cheap roughly cut sushi, I do think it still tastes good. But not as good as “real” Japanese food, I have to say I went to Japan twice and everything there tasted sooo delicious ! ?
Plus, Japan has this special spring holiday to celebrate the bloom of cherry trees, where everyone meets under those trees to share a picnic, so I thought it was the perfect food for spring !
So if you’re looking for something new, try out some authentic Japanese cuisine.
I think I will take some of these recipes and translate them to share with you !
• Soft Pinkish Make Up
Nudes, soft pinks, hot pinks, floral scent, this is how I see spring beauty ❀
I kind of adore pink now that i’m older, I just realised that. When I was little I hated pink because everyone was expecting me to like it since I was a girl, it annoyed me a lot, and that went on until I reached twenty years old, that’s when I bought my first pink item. And now, I guess I need to make up for all those years I didn’t acknowledge pink !
From left to right :
– Sante : Palette – Canmake : Palette – H&M : eyeshadow –
– L’Oréal : Lipstick – Lime Crime : Velvetine (Cupid) – Yves Rocher : Perfume –
• Colorful Stationery
For spring, I like to bright up my office furniture game by using very colorful items.
I found These nature themed notebooks near my school, I think they look lovely !
It’s the kind of pretty things that will make me want to write more, or do my homework. And yes, Pusheen is love, Pusheen is life.
And of course, bright colorful pens, pencils, and felt pens are the best to bright up your work.
I hope you enjoyed this post, and maybe you’ll find some inspirational ideas for spring !
I know it’s not really a DIY or a concrete post, but I wanted to share the spring theme and concept more than concrete ideas.
Let’s hope spring comes soon !
