I sure have now, with this Faux Marble Vase DIY ! I discovered contact paper not so long ago, and this thing is like magic : you paste it onto something and it becomes instantly a completely different object !
I had this old cylindrical box that I never used because I didn’t really like the looks of it, and a the same time, I was looking for a vase for my new flowers : this was the moment when the idea of adding contact paper to it went through my brain.
Let me show you how to make this gorgeous Faux Marble Vase :
✘ What You’ll Need :
- Contact Paper
- Scissors
- An old vase or circular box to custom
- A Ruler or a piece of cloth
1 – Know Where To Cut
Roll your contact paper around your vase, to measure where you need to cut it.
2 – Cut & Paste
Cut your contact paper, and paste all around while you take off the protective layer little by little, to be sure to place it well.
3 – Remove Air Bubbles
When it’s done, take a ruler, a piece of cloth, or your fingers, and make sure to remove trapped air bubbles.
And it’s done !
Contact paper is really awesome because you can use any pattern you want on anything. But the marble one really looks amazing, since it gives off that little classy & trendy aesthetic that I love.
Next time I think that I’ll try it on a piece of furniture !
