I’m going to share with you this concept that I discovered last month !
There’s a place in Paris called « La Fabrique » (it literally means « The Factory » in french). Every week, La Fabrique highlights a bunch of small and local businesses by giving them a place where they can display their products and ideas.
To make it simple, it’s like a shop where the products change every week, and where you can meet the person who made them there. I think it’s an awesome concept, that helps creators get some visibility, and customers discover new things ! The place itself is really nice, at the opening they even had free cotton candy and drinks.
There were many types of products here, but let me show you the brands that I liked the most :
For those who don’t know it yet, Kick Store is my boyfriend’s business, and it’s actually thanks to them that I got to know La Fabrique, because they were participating in it ! So of course they’re in my top list form La Fabrique. The concept is that at Kick Store, they let you try innovating high tech products for free, and then you can buy them if you like. I’ve already bought three items from them : a smart scale from Withings to measure fat and muscle mass, a Wistiki key chain to track my keys and phone, and my beloved rosegold smart watch from Withings too. I got to try out a drone from DJI when they were at La Fabrique, and they also had many other cool stuff like a stabilized 4k camera (that I think I’m going to get next time), a sleeping aid device, other colorful smart watches… don’t hesitate to check out their website for those interested 🙂
This girl’s concept is very simple : cruelty free cosmetics made only from organic and natural components, that are also waste free because you can buy refills for your containers. For now, she has some solid basics like powder, makeup brushes, reusable makeup wipes… I got her coconut lip balm, and I just love the coconut “taste” that it leaves on the lips. We spoke a bit with her, and she said that she was working on some glitter eye shadow : I can’t wait to see how that turns out.
This is a creative fashion brand, the main Item that I liked from them is their sweater. What does this this sweater have in particular ? This design actually comes with a zipper so you can remove each sleeve, and BAM ! You go from a cool sweater to a stylish top. I just love the two-in-one function, especially as a cold sensitive person. I always have to bring a cardigan with me if I go out on the evening, even in summer. But with this, I wouldn’t anymore, I’ll just have to shove my sleeves into a hand bag ! As it’s a creator brand and not a huge multinational corporation, the price is not affordable to everyone, but the quality is obviously way better than what you’ll find in big fast fashion brands.
If you’re French, you might get what this brand is about just from reading the name. “Le Sourcil” means “The Brow”, and this brand sells some wonderful brow products. I got to try out the brand’s brow pencil, which comes in eleven shades. This is not usual, many times I’ve seen a wide choice of three to four shades from most brands. But these brow pencils correspond to every shade of brows, blending in a very natural and subtle way. The creator kindly showed me which one corresponded the most to the natural color of my brows, and I was really happy with the result. I also got to test at home it’s waterproof claim, and I can say that the product holds pretty well if not in contact with any product. So that was enough to convince me and I got myself one !
If you’re looking for cool mirrored sunglasses, or a stylish tablet bag, go check out Polygon ! They also have really cute accessories, like bracelets made with tiger eye beads, or in different metals. They’re basic and classy items that will please almost everyone !
If you’re ever in Paris and don’t know what to do, or if you need to get a present for someone (or for yourself, because #treatyoself), don’t hesitate to drop by La Fabrique ! I’ll leave their insta here, so you can see what kind of products they’re featuring at the moment.
How do you like this concept ? 🙂
